RSS launches Data Science and Artificial Intelligence journal

The Royal Statistical Society has launched RSS: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, published by Oxford University Press — the first new title in the Society’s journal family since 1952. Neil Lawrence is founding editor-in-chief alongside Silvia Chiappa (Google DeepMind and UCL) and Sach Mukherjee (DZNE, University of Bonn and University of Cambridge).

The journal is open access and aims at work that spans statistics, machine learning, deep learning, econometrics, bioinformatics, engineering and computational social science. On 4 September 2024 Neil introduced the vision and mission at the RSS conference in Brighton. The inaugural editorial sets out the same brief: a venue for next-generation research at the intersection of those fields.

Submissions and the editorial board are on the journal site.
