On 25 January 2022 the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation advisory board was told that Neil Lawrence had been appointed a member. Edwina Dunn was interim chair. The minutes record the appointment.

Neil Lawrence appointed to the Digital Markets Unit expert group
The CMA appointed Neil Lawrence as an independent digital expert advising the Digital Markets Unit. The group has since been disbanded.
